The chessclub Hartkirchen organizes to the 23rd time the Donau Open. Over the last years it has grown to one of the biggest chess tournaments in Austria. This year we again hope for a big and strong tournament.

Aschach an der Donau, is a pictorial village situated at the river danube between Passau and Linz. At the magnificent promenade you can find many restaurants with typical austrian dishes, pizza-restaurants, cafes and pubs.
The tournament is played at the Aschacher Event Hall (AVZ), Bahnhofstraße 6, 4082 Aschach an der Donau.

Shuttleservice from Airport (Linz) to Aschach will be organized.

A - FIDE Open
will count towards FIDE, open for all players
Time control: 100min +30sec/move +40min after 40 moves

B - Tournament
will count towards FIDE, for players with documented national elo-rating less than 2000 Elo
Time control: 2h +1h after 40 moves

C - Tournament
for players with documented national elo-rating less than 1650 Elo
Time control: 2h +1h after 40 moves

J - Tournament
Under 12 youth- turnament.
Time control: 2h


All tournaments will be played in 7 rounds (Swiss system) with FIDE-rules.
Who arrives one hour after the scheduled start of the round, loses the game.
Final sequence according to points and progress.
Participants without an elo number in the B- or C-tournament won`t get a prize money.
The FIDE-Open will count for the FIDE-elo-rating.
